The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.

SASSA might be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it is alarmed concerning the higher quantity of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your high number sassa status check of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The services point created for intervention experiences a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it hard to the office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more means to empower the servicing of all consumers and improve access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
